All it takes to be self employed is a little motivation not a degree. I have both but I am not self employed…yet

i dont want to put you off but i have not seen any benefits of having a degree…
…i have an undergrad degree and a pgce degree and im having so much trouble even finding a job stocking the selves..
…they say employers are more likly to look at your cv if you have a degree but it doesnt mean that they need to take you on.

if you dont have a degree chances are you cv will end up in the bin before it even gets to touch the desk of the employers, so it may help to get your loeg into the door. Its just i personally have not seen any benefits

a college degree will at least allow you to improve your english communication skills, which is necessary in both self-employment and corporate positions.

my husband has owned his own company for 25 years and only has a high school education. . . I continue to go to college not because of my career but because of my own need to learn . . I’m studing Humanities (I’m working on a Bachlors degree ) and I do computer support work ( I have an Associates Degree). . some day I will work towards a Masters degree . . I have been self employed in the past but had to get this job for the health insurance, I think I’m the only one here with a degree let alone going to college. . I don’t like working in the corporate world . . I would rather be self employed

Ohmigosh! English atrocious!
Please study hard. The ability to obtain and retain a decent job OR get a college degree will hinge greatly on your ability to string words together to form a sensible, understandable sentence. Read everything with care and you will eventually find it easy.

A college degree can be helpful overall for the person who earns it. However having a college degree, by itself, does not guarantee the holder a greater chance at obtaining a job or a career. A college degree on a resume simply shows a potential employer that the applicant (with a degree) had the capacity for completing academic tasks specified on their transcript or by the type of degree they have earned.

Many self-employed people have been successful starting and running their businesses without ever starting college!
